About ERTO
Egis Road & Tunnel Operation Ireland (ERTO) was established in 2005. It is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the national Motorway network, the Dublin Tunnel and the Jack Lynch Tunnel, working on behalf of Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII).
Operations are reported by the team at Motorway Operations Control Centre. Here we use Intelligent Traffic Management Systems to monitor and manage traffic flows on most of our national major routes and motorways, supporting our emergency services in delivering safer smoother journeys for road users. We also offer 24-hour assistance to users via the Emergency Roadside Telephone network and connect with all stakeholders during incidents.
